SkinnyRx at a glance
SkinnyRx, operated by Lean Rx, Inc. of Sacramento, California, sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide with no membership fee, from about $199 a month including medication and overnight shipping. It also offers a brand-name route from a $49 monthly membership. In February 2026 it received an FDA warning letter over how it advertised its compounded medicines. Checked September 30, 2026.
What SkinnyRx offers
Few providers offer this many ways to take the same drug: compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide as weekly injections, daily sublinguals and daily buccal tablets, plus microdose options. Weight-loss kits can add bupropion, metformin, topiramate, naltrexone or vitamin B12. Separately, a $49 membership gives access to brand-name Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound, with the medication billed on top; independent reviews put Zepbound at around $1,400 a month there, which is far above buying direct from LillyDirect.
What SkinnyRx costs
Compounded semaglutide starts at about $199 a month and tirzepatide at about $299, with tablets at $249. Those are the figures SkinnyRx and most reviewers quote, but they are not stable: one price tracker recorded $169 for compounded semaglutide in May 2026, while patient reports in early 2026 describe $249 for semaglutide and $399 for tirzepatide at higher doses. That is a spread of more than $200 for the same medication. Prices on compounded plans include the provider review and shipping, with no membership and no contract.
The FDA warning letter
On February 20, 2026, the FDA sent SkinnyRx one of 30 warning letters issued to telehealth companies over compounded GLP-1 marketing, made public on March 3. The agency cited misbranding and false advertising, including efficacy claims for compounded oral and sublingual GLP-1 formulations. This matters because those are exactly the formats SkinnyRx promotes: sublinguals and tablets have not been tested in the trials that support approved semaglutide and tirzepatide injections, so claims that they work equivalently are not supported by evidence.
Is SkinnyRx legit and safe?
SkinnyRx is a licensed operation using U.S. pharmacies, and it includes 24/7 in-app messaging, progress tracking and nutrition guidance, which is more support than many cash-pay sellers. Against that, compounded medicines are not FDA-approved, the company has an open regulatory issue over how it advertised them, and independent reviews note complaints about cost transparency and response times. We could not verify a Trustpilot rating for this review.
Who SkinnyRx is best for
It suits people who want to try a needle-free format or microdosing at a low monthly price and are comfortable with compounded medication. If you want brand-name treatment, buying direct from LillyDirect or NovoCare is far cheaper than the route here. If regulatory standing matters to you, providers without a warning letter are a safer starting point.
Our verdict
SkinnyRx offers real choice of format at a competitive price, but it carries an FDA warning letter about the very claims it makes for its oral and sublingual products, and its published prices vary by more than $200 for the same medication. This review is based on research of SkinnyRx’s public pages, FDA enforcement records and independent sources on September 30, 2026, not hands-on testing, and follows our methodology. Yes. On February 20, 2026 the FDA cited SkinnyRx (Lean Rx) for misbranding and false advertising of compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, including efficacy claims for oral and sublingual forms.
Its compounded medicines are not. It also offers brand-name Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound, which are FDA-approved, through a $49 monthly membership with medication billed separately.
There is no trial evidence that they do. Compounded oral and sublingual GLP-1s have not been tested in the studies supporting the approved injections, which is part of what the FDA warning letter addressed.
Not on compounded plans. The brand-name route starts at $49 a month plus the cost of the medication.

How we test
TirzaSema GLP-1 Provider Scoring Methodology
This methodology explains how TirzaSema scores GLP-1 telehealth providers and programs. Scores are a weighted average of five categories, and every review shows the full breakdown. Affiliate relationships and commission rates are not part of the methodology.
- Cost and price transparency (30%): total monthly cost at common doses, including membership, consultation and shipping fees, and how clearly this is shown before payment.
- Medication options and sourcing (20%): FDA-approved brand-name and/or compounded options, how clearly compounded products are labeled, and dispensing-pharmacy information.
- Medical care and safety (20%): eligibility assessment, licensed-clinician review, dose and side-effect monitoring, and follow-up care.
- Ease of use and access (15%): sign-up process, time to treatment, states served, and insurance support.
- Customer support and policies (15%): responsiveness, cancellation and refund terms, auto-renewal clarity, and patterns in public customer feedback.
We research prices using provider and manufacturer public pages. Where published, we separate medication, membership, consultation and shipping charges, note dose or term differences, and label introductory offers. Each review states when its sources were checked. We have not enrolled in or bought a service unless that specific review explicitly describes hands-on testing. Confirm current terms and eligibility with the provider.
FDA-approved medications are reference entries with their labeled uses and official manufacturer information; our provider ratings do not measure a treatment’s clinical effectiveness.

Final verdict
Wide choice of formats at a low price, undermined by an FDA warning letter and inconsistent published pricing.
